Steel Crochet Hook No. 10. Doily measures 14 inches in diameter.

Starting: At center with Green, ch 12. Join with sl st to form ring.

1st rnd: Ch 4, 32 tr in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch-4.

2nd rnd: Ch 4, tr in same place as sl st. 2 tr in each tr around. Join.

3rd rnd: Ch 4, tr in each tr around. Join.

4th rnd: Ch 5, *tr in next tr, ch 1. Repeat from * around. Join to 4th ch of ch-5.

5th rnd: Ch 6, *tr in next tr, ch 2. Repeat from * around. Join.

6th rnd: Sl st in next sp, sc in same sp, *ch 5, sc in 3rd ch from hook (picot made), ch 8, sc in 3rd ch from hook (another picot made), ch 2, skip 2 sps, sc in next sp. Repeat from * around. Join.

1st rnd: Ch 4, 11 tr in ring. Sl st in top of ch 4.

2nd rnd: Ch 4, tr in same place as sl st, *tr in next 2 tr, 2 tr in next tr. Repeat from * around. Join.

3rd rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, sc in each tr around.

4th rnd: Sc in each sc around.

5th-15th rnds: Sc in each sc around, increasing 2 sc evenly in each rnd, careful that increases do not fall over each other.

16th rnd: Ch 4, tr in each sc around. Join.

17th-18th rnds: Ch 4, tr in each st around, increasing 3 tr evenly around. Join.

19th rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, *ch 5, sc in next tr. Repeat from * around. Sl st in first sc. Break off.

Petal (Make 6): Starting at base of petals, ch 18. Join with sl st to form ring.

First Petal: 1st row: Ch 4, 4 tr in ring. Ch 4, turn. 2nd row: Tr in first tr, tr in next 3 tr, 2 tr in top of turning chain. Work along side to correspond. Continue around outer edges of all petals. Insert flower through ring of petals and sew in place. Sew stamens in place. Apply sizing to stiffen flowers. Sew flowers around doily: Tack tips of 2 petals of each flower to 2 shells on last shell rod of doily and tack points of side petals of adjacent flowers.
